Jinghong
Jinghong is the capital of the autonomous region of Xishuangbanna. Historically a land of smuggling with Myanmar and Vietnam, it is now dedicated to the production of the local Pu-ehr tea and to tourist reception.
The Mekong River cuts the city in two, which is connected by gigantic and very well-kept bridges, continually invaded by rivers of scooters and electric cars.
As a first Chinese impact we found a clean and very safe city, with hospitable and friendly people in every corner.
During the day it may also seem like a quiet city but at night the night market lights up the nightlife with an incredible chaos of lights, stalls, people in costume and food of all types.
