Yunnan is a region almost unknown to us Westerners. It is located in the extreme southwest of the eastern giant and borders Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Tibet, thus condensing a population of 23 different ethnic groups.
It is slightly larger than Germany and in recent years has been the subject of accelerated development due to the great demand for domestic tourism. The typical wooden villages and spectacular natural landscapes have made it one of the most fascinating areas of China.
